MINDEX TECHNOLOGIES

Established in 1994, Mindex Technologies is a dynamic Software Programming and Professional IT Service company. Having grown to more than 200 employees, they approached Edge Architecture and Edge Building and Construction to create a new office in downtown Rochester to reflect their technology-based work culture, while accommodating their main business units.

Edge provided architectural design and project services for both the building as a whole and the interior tenant fit-out for Mindex. Edge Building and Construction provided GC services for the construction of the 1st Floor Mindex office space. The building is located in Alex Park, an eight-acre mixed-use project that will include new retail, office buildings, over 400 apartments, micro-units, and on-site parking garage.

Edge really took the time to learn about our company and employees to know what kind of work environment they would enjoy the best. I love, it, our team loves it, we couldn’t be more pleased with the results!

Edge designed the building in a holistic manner, combining the modern technology and community values of Mindex with sensitive, modern urban design principles.

Great care was given to the manner in which the building interfaces with the community space around it. The raised areas provide both a connection to the sidewalk and security for the first floor.

As one of the first new-build, mixed-use buildings in the City of Rochester DIZ (Downtown Innovation Zone), the design focuses on established design principles of urban planning and contextual design.

MINDEX TECHNOLOGIES | VENDING AREA

The vending area provides a convenient place for team members to purchase snacks, refreshments, or a quick and healthy lunch. It also serves as an impromptu meeting space, break area, or an alternative work environment.

MINDEX TECHNOLOGIES | MAIN WORKING AREA

Metal curtains were used to offer privacy for employees without cutting off visual connection other all parts of the office.

MINDEX TECHNOLOGIES | RECEPTION

The reception area is the first impression that guests make of any business. Upon entrance Mindex establishes a feeling of warmth and welcome, providing views into the variety of workspaces.

MINDEX TECHNOLOGIES | WORK AREA WITH OPEN BREAKOUT

Flexibility in spaces allows for formal, individual workstations to commingle with casual, impromptu areas throughout the office.

MINDEX TECHNOLOGIES | BREAK ROOM

This modern design brings people together, encouraging socializing and collaborative work. Perfect for team lunches or a meeting, it also serves as a large gathering space.

MINDEX TECHNOLOGIES | SERVER AND CONFERENCE ROOMS

Consistent with the company’s transparent culture, conference and server rooms remain visible through glass walls, not hidden behind walls and solid doors.

MINDEX TECHNOLOGIES | WORK AREA

Unique desk groupings were custom designed for Mindex, providing easy opportunities for collaborative or independent work, such as this set of pinwheel desks.

MINDEX TECHNOLOGIES | TRAINING ROOM

When focused, concentrated training is on the agenda, the training room provides a clean and bright environment free from distractions.

MINDEX TECHNOLOGIES | CONFERENCE ROOMS

Combating the sometimes stuffy nature of traditional conferencing rooms, Mindex enjoys glass walls where cross office visibility is maintained at all times.

MINDEX TECHNOLOGIES | PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

Some were difficult to design to include natural light, Edge found a solution to this by using strategically placed glass walls from nearby offices to offer “borrowed” sunlight.
