I'm inspired by historic buildings and the stories they carry. Growing up in downtown Rochester in an 1880's historic home really shaped my appreciation for architecture and the character it brings to a place.

The most inspiring part is seeing how design decisions affect people. I like thinking about how a space will feel and how it can improve someone's everyday experience.

I usually start by looking at inspiration images or projects and getting a sense of the surrounding or historical context. It helps me ease into the design and figure out a thoughtful direction.

Milan, Italy is one of my favorites because of how naturally it blends historic architecture with modern design.

I tend to lean toward classical architecture because of the materials and the level of detail (and I am just amazed at how it was done before all the modern technology), but I also really like when modern elements are incorporated in a thoughtful way.

I like a mix of being active and exploring new places, whether that's travelling, trying new food, golfing, or getting out on the lake for boating or surfing.
