The most inspiring part of my job is the process of hearing a clients wish list for a project, reading between the lines to understand what really matters to them, and watching them smile when things that they could feel but couldn't describe are presented to them as form.

Nothing gets the creative juices flowing like vigorous exercise. To me, clarity in design comes from exhausting all possible answers to find the "goldilocks" solution. In the pit of a workout session, I find that those kinds of solutions tend to bubble to the surface.

I like midtown Manhattan a lot. Every 6-12 months it feels different despite most of the buildings being there for years and years. Its just the new one or two additions that recontextualize the whole thing, and that interplay is my favorite part of visiting the city.

I'm a really big fan of angular 90's and early 2000's post-modernism, works of people like Thom Mayne, Farshid Moussavi & Alejandro Zaera Pollo's office, and Carme Pinos.
